Professional Courses for Health Care Workers and the Wider Public

Cranston Ridge Medical Clinic offers the following professional courses and updates to physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and medical office assistants as well as the general public:

Heartsaver CPR AED - Level C (accredited by Heart & Stroke / American Heart Association)

  • Full course (3 hours) - COST: $70 per applicant (free of charge for CSDM staff members) CLICK HERE TO BOOK

  • Renewal (1.5 hours) - COST: $70 per applicant (free of charge for CSDM staff members)

  • Full course & Renewal for Members of the CRMC-PAB - COST: $3.50 per applicant

  • Full course & renewals for staff members of CSDM available monthly - COST: Free of charge

 

The Heartsaver CPR AED - Level C program is offered both at CRMC or at any facility requesting it at their location within Calgary and Okotoks. Clinical managers, medical directors, or other community directors wishing to have the Heartsaver CPR AED - Level C course taught at their facility, please click here to contact our authorized instructor to request more information. This course is available to both health care workers of all levels and members of the public.

Each April, August, and December, CRMC teaches Heartsaver CPR AED - Level C at the Beth Tzedec synagogue, on 1325 Glenmore Trail SW, in Calgary. The minimum donation to take part at the course taught at this location is $100 and it is devolved entirely to charity. Only a maximum of 12 students may sign up for each session. To sign up for this course, follow the link to the website of the Canadian Magen David Adom and contact Sharon Fraiman. CRMC does not accept payments for courses offered at charitable events.

Basic Life Support - BLS (accredited by Heart & Stroke / American Heart Association)

  • Provider renewal (2 hours) - COST: $70 per applicant (free of charge for CRMC and CSDM staff members)

Eligible for two (2) credits per hour under Section 2 of the MOC Program as “Traineeships”.

Heart & Stroke courses are recognized across Canada. We are committed to continuous assessment and accreditation. Check with your college or professional affiliation to see if this course is eligible for credits.

Modified Early Warning Score System in the Family Medicine Setting for MOAs, LPNs, and RNs

Learn to identify patients at high risk of adverse outcome such as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD), stroke, and other acute conditions, and flag them to providers more efficiently and appropriately. This course is for medical office assistants, licensed practical nurses, and registered nurses.

COST:

$100 per student

Learn to identify patients at high risk of adverse outcome such as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD), stroke, and other acute conditions, and direct them to the emergency department more efficiently. This course is for nurses who prescribe and for physicians.

$150 per student
